Hey everybody. It's been a long time since I last posted. Well my double vision came back, and I rapidly began to lose sight in my left eye again. So this time, prior to prescribing the dread PRED, they performed a biopsy, this past Thursday. I go back tomorrow morning to get the results. Hopefully, this time, I can get a 100% diagnosis. It's even scarier now, because as I've said all along, I haven't had the typical symptoms of most of you. Also, during this last episode, they started suspecting lymphoma! Wow, it's like half a dozen in one hand, and six in the other, or double jeopardy. I'm currently taking 80 mil of Pred a day, which I hate. The last time I had to take it, I put on about 25 pounds in a week. I finally lost all that weight, plus an extra 25 more, then I'm put right back on them. However, I think I'd rather have sarc than lymphoma, especially, in my brain. Sheesh, when will this all end?

Hi Keachie,
I hope they can give you a definitive diagnosis. This isnt always easy as you know. Let us know how your visit w/ the doctor went. Good luck.

Keachie, just try and keep going. That's all any of us can do. I am in a similar boat with NS but no lymphoma. Of course as bad as sarc is lymphoma is worse. I hate the Pred too, but without it out I couldn't walk (even with a cane), since the sarc is in my brain and spinal cord. I am also headed for disability which I hate to think about. Keep us informed about the biopsy results and good luck.

Unfortunately the trip to the doctor today was non eventful. The ween't able to run all the tests on the tissue samples, that they'd wanted, to get ALL the results they wanted. So I have to go back Thursday AM. I'll keep everyone posted.

Bless your heart, keep looking up and take one day at a time. That's all any of us can do. God bless.

Call before you go next time ?

Good luck,
I.

Sarcoidosis and the Body
Sarcoidosis is a "multiorgan" disease - meaning it almost always involves more than one organ. It's unpredictable and affects different people in different ways.

You can learn about the ways in which sarcoidosis affects the body in FSR's Sarcoidosis and the Body brochure.
