Local Support in CT

Just curious if there is anyone out there in CT that are suffering from Sarcoidosis? I have other health issues also, but know of no one in CT so far that is dealing with this, and would love to know that there is someone out there that can relate. Thanks!

Hi Dawn and welcome. My name is Gary, I live in New Haven and was diagnosed in 1992 with pulmonary and bone sarc. If I can be of any help please let me know. Gary

I am a little late on this post but i am here in Trumbull... would love to find some local support. I have a fellow Sarc friend who works at my Pulm's office who has been trying to start a group!

Thanks for the support! Have you applied for disability? I tried several months ago and was denied. I'm trying to appeal, but am tired and frustrated and don't know what else that I could possibly do or say to change things. I'm at a loss and tired. What areas has the Sarc affected on you? I've had involvement with my eyes, skin, and joints. I also suffer from autoimmune hepatitis, which is actually what I'm having the most difficulty with at the moment. This is why I'm on prednisone and imuran.

Good to know that there is someone somewhat close. If you ever need anything, I'm here too. Keep me posted on how you are doing.

Dawn Marie

Good morning ladies. My disability was approved 4 months ago. I was sent to an independent dr and for indep. breathing tests at Hospital of St Raphael in New Haven and than was approved.
Just last week I did go the UCONN health center pulmonary dept for more opinions and I go back tuesday for more tests. They want to refer me to transplant team in boston (not needed now) to be in the system.
If you ever start a group, I would be happy to meet you, my 16 years with this might be of some help to you. Happy holiday's. Gary

Hi all, I live in East Haven and do not know of any groups in this area. Have been looking for quite awhile. I have it in several organs and am waiting a surgery date for my tear duct surgery. Had one eye done last year and that seems to be working ok. Hope everyone has a happy new year.
