Fatty tumors

Does anyone else have fatty tumors? I have one and did not know if it was related to sarcoidosis. Also I had my eyes checked and they are clear. Check ups every 6 months from here on.

If you mean the subcutaneous fatty tumors that you don't know are there unless you feel them under the skin, I had one removed from my leg a while back. I now have one in the other leg that I will ignore. The first one was removed at the same time as a cyst on my neck, or would still be there.

I have had numerous ganglion cysts-back of left wrist, a palmar one (removed twice) on my right hand, my left elbow (relatively uncommon) and left knee (also not as common). I have wondered if those might be sarcoid related, moreso than the fatty tumors. I've had so many bumps throughout the years that I refer to myself as a 'lumpy thing'.

I have a fatty tumor but I can't run her off.
I guess it is cheaper to keep her.

I'm joking.

Yup, got a fatty tumor on my shoulder/upper arm. Had it there for a long, long time. It does seem to be getting ever so slightly larger over the years. They run in my family. Not sure if it's got anything to do with Sarc. I'd love to get rid of it, but who has the money for that kind of thing? So I just don't go sleeveless any more. Big deal. I'm almost 48 years old. Who wants to see my middle-aged flabby arms anyway?

Also, I haven't been diagnosed with sarc, however, my syptoms sound alot like it. Already have diagnosis of Cfiids/ME, Fibromyalgia, RSD/Complex Regional Complex, neuropathy......ano lung problems. Do you have skin problems with this? I have started to have eruptions in my skin that will not heal. Overgrowth of skin on heels of feet, toes, and fingernails. Back of hands, feet, elbows and knees. Liver and kidney failure back in 2004. By the way what type of doctor diagnoses this. Docs just look at me like I am from I differnt planet, when I tell them even my Veins hurt, my hands turn red and get hot, and even started traveling up my arms. Recently my legs and feet do the same. Even when it is freezing cold. Now that it has turned hot this is agony with the other Pain issues. Can somebody give me direction? I live in Charlotte NC and have not found a decent doc. Does anyone know of a good doc in NC and how do I go about finding one? Sometimes I think I'd rather die than have to deal with all of this Bull****!!!!! Any help would be nice. Angela

Angela we all have our low points, but we have to live with it instead of die from it. If you hate this illness as much as I do, because of everthing it has taken from me, fight it ! Even if it gets me tomorrow people will say, he put up one hell of a fight, and he laughed about it.

Sounds like sarc. You should probably check blood sugar, too, if you haven't already.

Thank you for your words of inspiration. I just get worn out with this stuff. Been sick for years, and never knowing from one minute to the next what my body is going to do. And every doc looks at me and tells me its the cfs of fibro, when I know there are new strange things going on.They ttold me that when I was in liver and kidney failure, and this stupid disease and all the meds made me balloon up. And all of a sudden I got really sick and lost bunches a weight and looked like death, and all my doc could comment on, was how good I looked because I had lost weight. It didn't matter my pee looked like tea, and a week later my partner found me near death on the toilet in liver and kidney failure. And I found you guys and now after finding out there are so many autoimmune disases that I think I may have been suffering for nothing for years!!!!! I just am so happy I have found this site because there is finally somebody out there that understands!!! Thank you for your support and your kind reply. :)

I live in the Raleigh area and there are docs at Duke and UNC. Have you looked into coming out here to see a doc. I know it is hard to get into see some specialists and need a referral from a dr that has seen you. But it sounds like you need a good doc, especially with kidney and liver issues. Maybe a rheumatologist since they look at you systemically. If I were you I would try to get into see one at Duke through your primary doc making the referral. Good luck. We also have a sarc support group that meets monthly here in Raleigh if you are ever in our neck of the woods.

fatty tumors run in my husband family on his mothers side. She is 93 and was just moved from her home to a nursing home. Our daughter inherited the lumps and she has had a few removed and will soon have many removed from her legs with liposuction and is she excited insurance will pay for it cause it is not for cosmetic reasons. My husband has had a few of his removed because they were in an area that were irritated by his belt or his watch and so on. I know of a women that had all hers removed and bio'd as soon as she noticed them to be sure they were ok. None of these people have sarc that is my curse. I'd rather have fatty tumors. I am the one with sarc.

Does anyone know of a good doctor that knows about sarcoidosis in the Chattanooga, TN or North Georgia area?

I have several painful lumps and the docs say they are "just lipomas" but from what I read about lipomas they are not painful. Mine are close to the ribs front and back and really hurt.
Sudie, maybe someone in Nashville area - would that help? Dr Wonder Drake is doing research and could probably put you in touch with someone. She is also researching cutaneous (skin) sarc - just starting clinical trials I believe. Her research assistant is a member of this forum. I think she goes by Joan-Research, you might want to contact her.

Sarcoidosis and the Body
Sarcoidosis is a "multiorgan" disease - meaning it almost always involves more than one organ. It's unpredictable and affects different people in different ways.

You can learn about the ways in which sarcoidosis affects the body in FSR's Sarcoidosis and the Body brochure.
