I had sarcoid in 1973 and at the time there was some idea it was linked to pine trees! Lately I've heard there could be an infectious agent. What auto-immune reaction causes a granuloma? Why does it seem to be on the increase? Is there any link to anaesthesia? Can scars ever be removed from around the windpipe? If we all go over our histories there has to be some common element. Why are so many doctors resistant to rigorous analysis of a prolonged cough and treat it with antibiotics?
