Do you get flu shots including H1N1

0 Recommendations

I have lung sarc, and work with children. I have never gotten the flu shot. My doctor says that I should get the regular seasonal flu shot, but I hesitate. If a person with an autoimmune disorder gets a shot isn't it possible for our body to go nuts trying to fight off the flu that it starts to damage things that are okay Isn't that how autoimmune responses start? And the H1N1? I would be afraid to get the live virus because of this. If anything, the dead virus only. I qualify to get the H1N1 but haven't decided whether to get it or not.

Yes Get Both, You have High Risk Health Issues. Both are Made the Same Way. Not to get the Live Virus. You Should get the Flu Injection every year, Since the Virus does change year to year. You are really at High Risk to get sick Not to get them.

Forgot to say: Dont get them if you have allergies to Egg's.

Get both shots and a pneumonia shot if u havnt gotten one already. I can't find the H1N1 shot in the SW suburbs of IL. I work in a school and Im afraid Ill get the flu. Ive been spraying everything in site and irrateted my lungs last week. someone on another site told me to use peroxide instead of spray from the store. Im trying it monday.

I have pulmonary sarc with liver involvement. I get the yearly flu shoot. I got the H1N1 today the county health office my doctor’s office requested that I go because he doesn’t know if or when he may get his in. He has been given no shipment date for his H1N1. THE BEST PART IS WAS FREEEEE!

I have sarcoidosis and severe asthma....and it is definately best to get the seasonal flu shot. I get them every year in october! I've never had a problem. As far as getting the H1N1 flu shot, personally I would NOT get the live virus shot and I can't get it due to my asthma they won't give it to me....but I would get the dead virus H1N1. Hope this helps! Get your seasonal one for sure!

yes!!!! get both, and pneumonia, like beachbumjan said. DO NOT get the flu-mist nasal spray. that is live. the injection is dead. good luck finding the H1N1 availability. i live in madison, wi, and can't seem to find a clinic that has any. ughhhh!!!

I agree get the h1n1 shot but I found out on Friday that the health dept. had 50 doses of it and when I went to get it I found I didn't qualify for the shot they changed the requirements you can only get the shot if you are under 4 years of age or between the ages of 5 and 18 and have under lying health conditions these are the only ones who can get the h1n1 flu shot for right now. To me this felt like a low blow my Rum doc told me to get the shot as soon as possible this just doesn't make to much sense to me.This is in Wisconsin not sure in other states.

I've gotten the seasonal flu shot since I was diagnosed and got the H1N1 shot this year. I've never had a problem.

I've gotten the flu shot every year since my sarc diagnosis in 2004 and have not gotten the flu.
I was told at my last pulmnologist office visit at National Jewish...DO get the shot of H1N1 not the live virus inhaled through nose. Unfortunately, it seems like it won't be available here in CO until mid November...

Sarcoidosis and the Body
Sarcoidosis is a "multiorgan" disease - meaning it almost always involves more than one organ. It's unpredictable and affects different people in different ways.

You can learn about the ways in which sarcoidosis affects the body in FSR's Sarcoidosis and the Body brochure.
