I have never heard of this but like all sarcomaniacs I would love to hear more about this if it has any positive effects on you or if it turns you into a turnip I would like to know that as well cause I do not like turnip however I love asparagus and If I have to stay on pred I might as well eat the veggies I like.

its suppose to be a 80 mg shot taken once a week and when taken you do not have to do prednisone at all this is what doc is telling me. have new appt in the a.m. with him will discuss more then and let everyone know

I've used Depo Medrol for my Sarc. I had terrible side effects with Prednisone that made me feel worse than the sarc did. With the Depo Medrol, I did not have all the terrible side effects. It is still a steroid, just a different formulation from prednisone. It is an injection, but I was only given one every 3 months. They said it couldn't be given more frequently, not sure why though. Depo Medrol is actually my drug of choice during a flare up and am seriously considering calling for one today!! I'm also on Plaquenil. Good luck and let us know how you do on it!

Just got back from doc. Now he says that I should wait until I have a flare, because I am down to 20 mg of p.o. prednisone, but he only had injections of 40 mg. That, he said would defeat the purpose of me trying to ween down, and put me at a higher mg than that I am on now. Confusing, but hopefully, I will not have another flare. I guess for now, I will continue my daily routine of popping preds and feeling like crap. Oh joy! Well, on a more positive note, I also had an eye-opening visit with an Oncologist recently...The lymphnode on the left side of my neck has always been swollen, not getting better with pred, and my doc was worried. Sent me over to the oncologist, who sent me for a CT of my brain, chest, and neck. The results came back today, and whether it be the power of prayer, which I am a huge fan of, there was NOTHING there. No more lesions on my brain, only one tiny lymphnode, which the doc said was so tiny, that it's possible I could have just brushed my teeth too hard, and the strangest of all...my lungs were perfectly clear. No nodes, no signs of any granulomas, nothing. So, I am taking that as a sign that this stuff can get better. Now, if it can stay this way, that is the best possible thing, not only for me and my family, but to all of you as well. There IS hope! I will stay in touch with everyone, and let you know if my good fortune decides to stick around..I wish you all the best and my prayers are with each and every one of you.

Sounds like God is working in your life neurosarcsucks, congratulations and I will keep you in my prayers.

God Bless and take care!!!!

I had a Kenalog injection for my allergies in December that really helped with the the Sarc symptoms for about 6 weeks. It's similar to Depo-Medrol.

Sarcoidosis and the Body
Sarcoidosis is a "multiorgan" disease - meaning it almost always involves more than one organ. It's unpredictable and affects different people in different ways.

You can learn about the ways in which sarcoidosis affects the body in FSR's Sarcoidosis and the Body brochure.
