I was born in Eaton Rapids, Michigan 17 miles south of Lansing, Mich. I lived in that area with my family which was mostly farm country. Just shortly before my 16 birthday my parents, one of my brother's and I moved to the Harrison, Michigan area in August of 1972. If any of you have ever been up this way in Michigan you know that it is mostly pines that grow here. I did live just a stones throw from a Salfa mill when I was living in the DownRiver area of Detroit when my first husband was still alive. I then moved back here to the Harrison area and that is where I have lived since.

Born in Florida, raised in Mobile, AL. As adult lived in New Orleans area 10 years where we drank the municipal water (Mississippi River), lived in Dallas area for 15 years, now live in Salado (central TX) for 10 years. I am 63. Environmental issues....I shake my head as I say this...I use to love the smell of pine sol to clean with and also bleach. Also, living on the gulf coast, we had our houses sprayed every month professionally for bugs and of course the city sprayed the streets several nights a week. Father-French Canadian, and Mother-Alabama

I grew up here in NC. Lived in Ft. Bragg, Fayetteville, Chapel Hill, Greensboro and now Summerfield.

I lived along the Mississippi River in central LA for the first 18 years of my life. A family treat was fresh catfish caught in the MS River or rivers which fed into it. Like Peggy our town was sprayed at least every other night for bugs, especially mosquitoes. Our town water was from wells. Cotton growers also use small airplanes to spray for weevils in cotton.

I STILL use Pine Sol and Bleach (infrequently) - should I be using something else?

I've in the Puget Sound for 22 years. I understand the frequency of sarc here is very high.

Hi I've been living in Birmingham Alabama all of my 49 years. Plenty of steel mills....my mother had sarcoid when she died, her baby brother has it now and his baby daughter has it. I am the baby of my moms children and the only one that has sarcoid. I'm thinking it could be the environment we all live in around steel plants, some type of polution. Every time I'm looking at Tv I'm seeing a lot of different lawyers representing everything but people who have Sarcoidosis and some are getting checks. (esbestus) I don't no how to spell it. I think we should be getting one also. Whether we worked in hospitals, corporations etc that did not have environment control. Let's hurry and find out since no one else is looking in to it....Let's Keep the Faith

Ok i started a spread sheet and I think I will get in contact with the heads of this site to see if we can put something else together. Have to start somewhere right. I guess we should go something like this.

screen name/ age. location of birth and currently living location. Occupation and what form of Sarc you have as well as when you first got ill.

I know my buddy and I were dx at the same time but he lives in Colorado and I moved back to Canada. We went to the same Junior High together and I have been back in Canada for 12 years next month. I moved to Colorado in 1992 and moved back to Canada at the end of 1996. I did not get dx until June of 2007 but began getting sick winter of 2006. So I am also looking to see how long it is in our bodies before it presents its self.

Lets do this folks.......lets figure something out here and do something to make the world aware of what we are all doing to our health...

I was born in 1953 in Galesburg, IL. My parents had a boat and we spent a lot of time on the ole Mississippi River. We moved to Carmichael, CA in 1961. I currently live in Auburn, CA - about 30 miles from Sacramento in the Sierra Foothills.

I was diagnosed on August 1, 2008 with lung, liver, spleen, and bone marrow sarc. Interestingly, a person that I attend six meetings a year with was diagnosed on August 7th with lung sarc. We were in Murfreesboro, TN and New Orleans together in October 2007. We were in Napa, CA together in January 2007. In early Feb. she was diagnosed with pneumonia and given antibiotics. A week later we were together in Washington, DC. Then one week after that (3/8) I came down with a fever (102), chills, aches, and cough. The cough never went completely away and I became increasingly short of breath.
