Clinical Trials for Sarcoidosis

0 Recommendations

I have had sarcoidosis for 6 years, coincidently i've been a clinical research associate for about the same amount of time (i oversee sites running clinical trials). i work for the largest research organization in the world, and have access to see all the research going on in all different therapeutic areas. its sad to say, with thousands of studies going on, not one for sarcoidosis. why is this? it drives me nuts! i also just checked www.centerwatch.com, which lists studies that are going on presently..again, nothing for sarcoids. the more posts i read on this site, the more i see a need for drug research. i'm lucky, my sarcoids is "do-able", but i'm reading posts of people having transpants, being bed-ridden, on disability. i never knew this disease could be that debilitating. i was wondering if anyone has participated in a trial, or knows of any going on right now.

Go to clinicaltrials.gov....you can check for a specific disease. I have been on this site many times looking for a trial for my son. Good luck!

Joyfulpatty is correct - go to clinicaltrials.gov - there are quite a few studies, but you might not wish to enroll in any of them - depends on your particular situation. I posted earlier (a month ago) about one trial up at Northwestern, and I know there are some others. Rascalsmom

thank you both!!!

Help and information from FSR

Sarcoidosis and the Body
Sarcoidosis is a "multiorgan" disease - meaning it almost always involves more than one organ. It's unpredictable and affects different people in different ways.

You can learn about the ways in which sarcoidosis affects the body in FSR's Sarcoidosis and the Body brochure.
