Charlie Brown Syndrome?

0 Recommendations

Hi All! I've recently been experiencing some strange symptoms. I was shopping recently, I got really dizzy nauseated and then really really tired. Friday, I was at work, a co worker was talking to me, I would see that he was speaking to me but all I could hear was blah, blah, blah and couldn't comprehend. I got dizzy, felt like I was going to pass out and then was extremely tired. I noticed recently that I can't remember things and I'm loosing things such as my shoes and glasses. Is this a side affect of my medication, am I having heart issues or am I just going crazy? I'm taking 15 mg of mtx on Sundays, 5 mg of prednisone daily.

I have these same symptoms and that is why I am not working now. Hate it. My heart is fine so although you could be having heart problems it's not necessarily so. It's just part of my sarc symptoms. Sorry to hear you have it.

Yes, I have been having the same issues for a couple of months. I feel dizzy and sick to my stomach all the time. I never actually get sick or have a fever. I saw a endocronolgist (sp), cardio doc and just visited a neuro doc last thursday. They believe that my brain is not sending the correct signals to my heart. (blood pressure is extremely low). I will be scheduled for a MRI and lumbar spine punture(spinal tap, check out the fluid). It may be neuro sarc. Who knows????
I have been out of work for 10 weeks and can not drive. I have 3 children and this is really driving me crazy!!
Good Luck!

It could be a few things. Low blood suger or high blood suger, but since you have sarcoid it could also be your liver or neurosarcoidosis. I have similar symtoms plus a few more you didn't mention and I have neurosarcoidosis. They did an MRI and spinal tap with blood workand a 2 day EEG, Because the only way to find out if you have neurosarcoidosis is by a biopsy and mine isn't in my spine (the bone) it is in my spinal cord and they just can't go cutting into your spinal cord just to see if you have it, so they do those other test to outrule ANY other possibilities of anything wrong then they will know for sure that it is neurosarcoidosis. Hopefully for your sake I hope it's low blood sugar!

These are symptoms I had before my adrenal crisis which is life threatning. It sounds as if you are experiencing adrenal insufficiency which happens before a crisis. If so you will need to up your prednione and taper it slower.

God bless and take care!!

Ms. Purplesnowflake, thank you for your advice. I wanted to let you know that I came home from the ER this afternoon. Apparently, my pulmonary doctor is on night call this week...whatever that means. I called his office to "report" my troubles this morning. His nurse sent me to the ER. They lightened my wallet for me, shot me up with a prednisone equalvant, took a chest xray, a couple of gallons of blood and sent me home. Their conclusion, "costochonritis and bronchospasms" and for me to increase my prednisone back up to 10mg. My pulmonary doctor's nurse told me to call back in the morning if things haven't improved. Looks like I should have taken your advice and my wallet wouldn't be as light.

Hi,

Sorry to hear that you had to go to the hospital but I am glad you are ok:) How long have you been on the pred the longer you have been on the longer it takes to taper. I will keep you in my prayers hopefully rest and more prednisone will make you feel better.

God bless!!

If your 24hr urine calcium is high then your Sarc is active and you should either have your Pred dose increased or at least remain on 10mg. until all of your Sarc labs are normailized. Especially if you have Sarc granuloma, Pred is the best of the meds at shutting them down - which will stop the pain. It's the by products of granuloma reproducing themselves that causes pain.

PS If your serum calcium is high and Vit. D low - DON'T take Vit D sippliments!

Regards,
I.

hi,mvaughn,i spoke to you about 2 weeks ago, sorry to hear of your un-wellness,I had told you about my a.v.n.r.t.heart problem and yes occasionally I get the same symptoms you are having ,it's just because the heart is an irregular pattern and has to correct itself, the dizziness is unreal sometimes,I take metoporol (a beta blocker) to keep the beating regular but sometimes I have breakthrough epiosdes anyway ,these symptoms could be so many different things,I hope you can pinpoint your problem, but dont worry, maybe the pulm.doc can help...good luck!

Sarcoidosis and the Body
Sarcoidosis is a "multiorgan" disease - meaning it almost always involves more than one organ. It's unpredictable and affects different people in different ways.

You can learn about the ways in which sarcoidosis affects the body in FSR's Sarcoidosis and the Body brochure.
