CAN'T BREATHE

0 Recommendations

I WAS DIAGNOSED 4 YEARS AGO WITH SACRCOIDOSIS WHICH APPEARED IN MY LUNGS. I REALLY HAD NO PAIN THERE HOWEVER, IT SHOWED UP EVERY WHERE ELSE ATLEAST UNTIL NOW. A FEW DAYS AGO I FELT MY CHEST GETTING TIGHTER AND AS OF NOW I CAN NOT BREATHE. MY LUNGS EXPAND VERY LITTLE. I GOT AN EMERGENCY APPOINTMENT WITH MY RHMUETOIDOLISGT ( SORRY FOR THE SPELLING) BUT I AM SCARED. IT IS SO TIGHT AND I CAN BEARLY TALK. HAS ANYONE ELSE EXPERIENCED THIS AND WHAT DID THEY DO TO HELP.

i think many of us have had this happen - for me, it turned out to be pneumonia, and improved w/ antibiotics, nebulizer treatments, etc. (i went to urgent care as it was too long to wait for my pulmonary appointment - i was having difficulty talking, had to pause to breathe while chewing food, etc).

i'm sure this is frightening for you, but your doc should be able to help you. if you find that you are really in distress, or if your color is not good, you may want to consider going in to urgent care. are you able to call the nurse in the clinic? explain that you are frightened. she may be able to squeeze you in sooner, or give you some ideas about ways to help your symptoms - i think it would be a good idea to call.

in the meantime, if you have an inhaler or nebulizer, you might want to try one or the other.

I agree, try to see if you can see someone else. I had pnumonia and it took me a long time to get rid of it. I am in stage 3 , so I am now on a nebulizer and it really does help!! I use it 4 x a day from now on. I have accepted it and will do whatever works for me. Sometimes I waited because I also have Asthma and Scoliosis and didn't know any better but as time go by I have learned which pain is what! We are here for you!!!
