Bringing awareness

1 Recommendation

The tv show "The View" did a great job yesterday to bring in Lung and Pancreatic Cancer Awareness. Let's all contact them and see if we can get them to do a piece on Sarcoidosis! Here's a link to write your message. I just submitted mine.

I sent my request, too.

i also contacted them

I think that is a wonderful ideal to contact the view , to let them know that their are alot of people who suffers with scar. It would not be a bad ideal to notify the new show Doctors Doctors as well.

after hearing about Bernie Mack dying with pneumonia, that associated with scar, I really began to worry about desease.

Of course I will submit an opinion. I didn't see the show but I would guess there was talk about Patrick Swayze and that is what prompted the shows subject. When Patrick died it wasn't forgotten about the next day like Bernie Mack's death was.Unfortunatley, and I don't want to be negative about our disease, but I've said it a thousand times that it is going to take a megastar actor, actress or athlete that the public likes to get this disease before it draws REAL attention. That hasn't happened yet.I wish no ill health on anyone but if David Letterman or Tom Brady were to get this disease people would not stop talking about Sarcoidosis. It would have the same effect on people as did Magic Johnson's HIV.

Help and information from FSR

Sarcoidosis and the Body
Sarcoidosis is a "multiorgan" disease - meaning it almost always involves more than one organ. It's unpredictable and affects different people in different ways.

You can learn about the ways in which sarcoidosis affects the body in FSR's Sarcoidosis and the Body brochure.
