Brighter Day!!!!!!

I feel sooooooooo much better today... not physically, but MENTALLY!!!

Over the last few days, I took the time to pull out all the lab work and doctors notes that I have been keeping since around 1999. I have had the same symptoms for a number of years. I kept going to different doctors and telling them the same thing thinking that one of them would figure out what test to do in order to come up with a different result and that hasn’t happened. After I took the time to organize all of the lab work that I’ve collected, I noticed that I have had the same lab tests repeated with basically the same results and it’s not getting me anywhere , so instead of having more tests done, I compiled all of tests results and I want the different specialist to start reviewing them for anything “significant” that sticks out that we can use as a starting point for going forward. I had a binder full of stuff. LOL! I made charts and everything. Needless to say, I am very proud of it! I want to be a better patient and "partner" with my doctors.

I saw a cardiologist today and it was an awesome visit!! He was so proud of me for the way I presented my case to him. He ordered a Cardiac MRI, an Echo & a Lower Extremity Venous Doppler! YEAH!!!!!!! I am so excited and can't wait for the results. It really made my day!

I pray that everyone will have a wonderful 4th of July weekend!

Good on you for showing initiative with your health and ultimately, your life. Good luck with the next load of tests. Hope you find out something that gives you direction and peace. The symptoms of this disease are very peculiar. I have never gotten copies of my results and have assumed that normal meant NORMAL. My GP (PCP?) has copies from my specialist. It makes me wonder. I have been told when things were far from normal though. Regards Deb

Shae44,

Good for you. Guess I sometimes do not realize just how lucky I am. I have an ex-wife who is a RN who set me up a binder like that. And who helped me keep focused on my care. Some bad months there for awhile. Did not know who I was where I was. But off of that. I am happy for you and proud for you. You go girl.
Anytime we can take control of our care is a good time,

Great news! Sometimes we are just directed to do some hard work (organizing things) but the payoff is as you have described incredibly rewarding! Can't wait to hear the results of the cardiac tests.
May all of us who read your post be encouraged to make things...simple...get a binder...whudda thunk it!
Blessings

Sarcoidosis and the Body
Sarcoidosis is a "multiorgan" disease - meaning it almost always involves more than one organ. It's unpredictable and affects different people in different ways.

You can learn about the ways in which sarcoidosis affects the body in FSR's Sarcoidosis and the Body brochure.
