Body Aches, joint and shoulder pain

0 Recommendations

Hello everyone,

I just got started (this week) on Humira and I feel horrible. My hips, shoulders and knees are so painful, I am not wanting to walk at all. I have taken more pain medication today than ever. I have never had to take more than 3 Darvocet in one day and today I have had to double up. I am not even sure that is okay. All I know is that I needed something to help, and it did. I don't understand this whole thing. At one point they thought I had RA and Sarc. I don't know what to do about this, I am feeling very defeated right now, and could use some support and any information you might have.

Thanks,
Debbie

Is there any possiblity of getting into water exercises where you live? I have found that water aerobics have really helped with my joint issues. I feel and sleep better now because of the classes.

Of course, you need to go to a warm pool. Cold water won't do the trick.

You need to keep moving as much as you are able. Certainly, some days I do less than others, but I try to get to the pool at least 3 times a week.

dear mndharmon, I also suffer from pains in my shoulders, upper arms, and both wrists going into my hands and fingers. Sone nights are so bad, that I have to get up, and take 2 Tilenols. But things already seem to get better just by getting out of bed.
I go to a good water aerobics class 2 to 3 times a week, try to be as active as possible. and possibly things would be worse without this.
My Sarc Dr. is a Rheumatologist, and now he perscribed again P.T., which I hope to start the middle of NOv. I guess to stay as active as possible is the best advise.
I was diagnosed about 18 months ago, and am now on 5 mg Prednisone. (Was on much higher doses, and during those times all my joint aches were totally gone.)
Blessings, Lillideita

Thank you for the great suggestion. I will look into getting into the water aerobics class. I do find that if I sit too much it get's a lot worse. Yesterday was a bad day for me. I did my MTX shot on Friday and it really made me hurt yesterday. I will keep you all posted.

Sarcoidosis and the Body
Sarcoidosis is a "multiorgan" disease - meaning it almost always involves more than one organ. It's unpredictable and affects different people in different ways.

You can learn about the ways in which sarcoidosis affects the body in FSR's Sarcoidosis and the Body brochure.
