Back and rib cage pain

0 Recommendations

I have had upper back pain for 2 yrs. It seems to be muscle pain. I have had CT, Bone scan, MRI's, etc. All came back normal. It mainly hurts when holding something in front of me. It all started from carrying my newborn daughter 2 yrs ago all the time. If I hold my daughter for more than a few minutes it becomes unbearable. The pain also comes when I sit in a chair for a while. Alot of stiffness in the morning. I have tried heat, ice,etc will no results. This is extremely annoying not knowing what I have. Has anyone had this? Advice?

Surgery Weakness Pain Degenerative disc disease Back pain Stress

A lot of people with Sarcoid complain of rib cage pain which I think has to do with the stress of breathing. The upper back pain I'm not sure about. Have you seen a Chiropractor?

I have not seen a chiro. I think I may try acupunture and chiro. Message therapist says it seem like I was in a car accident but i can't pinpoint the actually occurence. She didn't help much either.

My husband suffers from rib pain. It's been relatively constant for about 6+ months.

You may have a compressed disc in your upper back it may be an idea to see an orthopeodic surgeon if not for surgery to find out exactly what you have through a myelogram or discogram. It may save you a lot of pain in the future nobody can adjust a vertebrae and please be very skeptical about anyone who says that they can move any bone without an invasive therapy. Think logically how can someone move a bone on the outside and not engender greater problems on the inside. I have tried chiro, accupuncture, the girdle of agony which works and traction which works for a short period of time.

My pains started with holding my arms out in front of me, for any reason. Pouring coffee, drying my hair, driving...if I add lifting to the posture I am in deep trouble.
I recently noticed small lumps of various sizes under the skin of my upper arms. They feel ike granulomas.
I have seen a chiro, orthopedic surgeon, had MRI's and other scans.
I do have degenerative disc disease that is mild with some extrusions and foraminal narrowing that causes radicular pain and cramping muscles. Tingling and numbness in hands and forearms. Weakness that causes me to drop things, etc.
My rib pain was bad again last night with sleep almost impossible. An hour or two on right until they hurt so much I'd turn over and then the whole thing starts again.
I also experience the MS hug, a wrapping squeeze on the diaphragm area and all around my body which is triggered by arm position, posture, etc. I feel short of breath, aches and pains in ribs and vaguely uncomfortable all over my body. Sometimes had tremors accompany this.

Hi dad
Wow I have the same type of pain and get nothing but run around from the doctors they make you feel like you are making it up and just want to ignore you. They tell me now that I have DISH disease more or less bone spurs on my spine that will fuse together. I have been going to PT it helps some but at times makes things feel worse I wish I had an answer for you but maybe someone on here will best of luck to you. John

Sarcoidosis and the Body
Sarcoidosis is a "multiorgan" disease - meaning it almost always involves more than one organ. It's unpredictable and affects different people in different ways.

You can learn about the ways in which sarcoidosis affects the body in FSR's Sarcoidosis and the Body brochure.
