Am I Lucky?

0 Recommendations

I have been living with sarc in my lungs and I am guessing in my brain(sometimes I can't find the word I am searching for or am slow to get my thoughts. I have the tingling sensations in my extremities and face. Of course that could be just old age creeping up) for almost four years now. I have been reading this site now for about six months and have decided that I must not be as bad as I think I am. My body hurts constantly and my lungs feel like someone kicked me - except deep inside. The good thing is I do not cough yet. There are times when I do something physcially demanding and I feel like I can't get enough air and I have to suck more in, but that eventually goes away after awhile. Or if I carry on a long conversation I have to stop talking for awhile and recharge the O2 level. Am I the lucky one or will the shoe be dropping sometime when I least expect it? Will I eventually start coughing my lungs out? You guys are great and give me a sense of belonging. When no one else understands, I can come home to you all at the end of the day.

Sarcies are like snowflakes. All different.

You sound like you have a good mindset about the disease and are emotionally coping. That's the key. It's a roller coaster but if you are already prepared for that, you know the big dip may come and are ready.

Glad you found a home here!

Some people with those symptoms would be moaning and groaning and you call it lucky well when you gauge it with some, maybe you are, anyway the best you can hope for is that you are happy with where you are. I think if you can smile in the morning and again before bed then you are insane no I mean "Lucky" and it seems that is you so I bow to your attitude and say good luck and God speed there is nobody going to make you feel good but you and maybe some poppy powder.

I too feel lucky, having been dx 10 months ago with aprox. symps as yours only with joint problems, am now down to 10mgs daily and feeling pretty good I might make it to 0mgs{who knows?} I do know for sure after reading this site for a while now, I thank God for what symptoms I have, and feel Bad for others. Yes feel lucky cause it will help your attitude towards sarc.

Help and information from FSR

Sarcoidosis and the Body
Sarcoidosis is a "multiorgan" disease - meaning it almost always involves more than one organ. It's unpredictable and affects different people in different ways.

You can learn about the ways in which sarcoidosis affects the body in FSR's Sarcoidosis and the Body brochure.
