HELP!

I was recently diagnosed with sleep apnea and started trying to use the CPAP machine 5 days ago and have been absolutely miserable. I just don't seem to be able to get use to having the mask on my face. I tried for 1/2 hour the first night, 2 hours the second night, and 1 hour the third night. I didn't even try last night. I went to the doctor's office this morning to have the pressure and the mask adjusted. The tech realized that I was trying to breath through my mouth and gave me a chin strap to use. While that helps the fit, I still can't get use to having the dang thing on my face. I tried again tonight for over an hour and just can't take it. Does anyone have any suggestions or words of support. I read other people's stories about how much they have been helped by the machine and it makes me want to cry. I feel like I'm trapped having to use this thing for the rest of my life and I'll never get use to it. Sorry to sound so pathetic, but that's how I feel right now.
