Having the first bad day in a long time. Ate a snack size Milky Way. Know better, paying the price!
Anyway, was reading a friends journal and found something I sent her. Made me stop to think what a good life I've had. Thought I'd share these thoughts.
"They" told me I would never be able to work, marry or have a child.
I worked for many years as an advertising copywriter and secretary.
"They" also predicted I would be fortunate to see 30. I'm 70!
"They" said I should never think of marriage and having a family. Because I so wanted to be "normal" I had an unfortunate first marriage that blessed me with 2 children. My daughter can't deal with my health problems but, my son cares deeply.
I am now remarried to the most wonderful and caring man. "They" took bets we wouldn't make it. 29 years later, guess who has the last laugh!
"They" said I would never walk again 3 times. I have to use a cane and I'm slow but, I get there and there are a lot of 70 year olds with a cane!
We have to learn not to pay attention to the "theys" in our lives and follow our own path.
