Jake started 7th grade oon Thursday. He was so scared and worried that his friends would find out about his c-tube. I tried talking to him about it but he will not talk to me. He is a great kid and is an A student. So he knows how cruel Middle School students can be.
His c-tube was placed 9 weeks ago, and right now is quite long, it bunches up even when taped. He said everything went well the first day back, but on Friday morning he said he was having some pain. I could tell that it wasn't bothering him that much, so I gave him some Ibprofen and sent him to school. wo hours later I got a call at work, that he was having pain and wasn't feeling well. I called my sister to pick him up.
When I got home from work he was just fine he went to our Olive Festival Parade, and nothing seemed to be bothering him.
I think he's going to take advatage of the scholl's health aide. Our school has never had a child with a c-tube before.
I used to work at his school site, but this year was sent ro another site that needed me more. The health aide used to come get me to see if he needed to go home before.
I just don't know what to do. He gets the long c-tube replaced on Tuesday, so I'm hoping this helps. I hope this procedure doesn't cause my son any emotional issues.
