The more I read and study , the more I realize I am not alone ,,, I have spent 14 months looking ,begging ,praying , crying, reading and paying for help with no dental insurance or medical insurance , about $ 35.000.00 dollars ,our life savings . This is one of the top of the list worst things that has happened to me ,, I have a very strong character , painful life learning lessions , I never saw this awful life changeing experience coming , I never dreamed I would still be in this type of pain in my face and orally in my mouth ,,I have a tongue that does not feel much of anything but pain sensations , my tongue does not feel like it is part of me anymore , numb ,tingleing lips ,numb roof of my mouth , similar to 100s of splinter of glass pushed into the roof of my mouth , and burning numb painful upper gums above my front top teeth ,, hurting lower teeth and numb gums ,awful neuropathic tooth pain in my front #7 crowned tooth ,,(thank GOD a neurologist put me on trileptol a couple months ago has really slowed down electrical shocks I have experienced everyday for 16 months)(I took gabapentin 3times a day a total of 3000 mgs for 9 months ,no help at all from gabapentin , I lived pain free until my new dentist of less than 20 months told me I needed this crown procedure during my six month cleaning ,I allready had several ceric crowns put in my molars that he said I needed ,I admit I was a trusting ,gullable believing person , and I believed everthing he told me I needed,, After the procedure produced so much pain during and after for six weeks ,I was being electricuted in one of the crowns and begged for a root canal to make it stop ,that was to no avail, I was sent off with a third antibiotic and the comment of I don't know what else to do for you kid , or even where to send you with symptoms like I had ,this dentist has completly recanted the crumbleing/breaking teeth line, this was the only reason I said yes to his crown procedure The crowns he put in were so unnatural to my real teeth , they were big horse teeth , not allowing me to close my mouth completly. ( I previously had the same dentist for 35 years , who retired ,) My 17 months of this is so long I could write a book , I have paid over 15 dentists ,md's, neurologists and Mayo hospital did dental material testing so many ,many things to tell about this journey so far , I would need pages from the beginning Nov. 13,2007 to this day now May 19,2009, I have really changed as a person ,learning to live in pain ,and not throw in the towel , my faith in GOD will not let me , I need to be a voice for this disaster that can happen when you do not have clue of the inner workings of the nerves and the brain , I am grateful to have found this website to see others in my shoes , not knowing what to do , I do not have scientific facts , I just know the trigeminal nerve is like a computer connected to the inner workings of our oral cavity , bottom, top teeth , nose ,tongue and eyes , ears ,,, when you traumatize, kill or possible novacaine injection, those microscopic nerves , the whole system changes and can go haywire and start sending pain signals to the brain ,,,the longer you go untreated , the most difficult it is to find any pain relief , on a pain scale of 1 to 10. I have spent over a year at 8,9,10, now everyday is 7 to almost a 9 , I am blessed with a man at the U of Minnesota ,who studies Trigeminal , neuralgia, neuropathy ,and neuropathic tooth pain, he believes my pain , and knows what I am telling him hurts , his name is DR. Donald Nixdorf , Oral facial pain dept. he has made the orahesive paste for inside my mouth , which numbs the pain like a novacaine shot for an hour and a half at a time , I use it three times a day ,,, it is a bandage so to say , It brings me back from the edge of insanity of my oral pain and my trigeminal nerve affecting my teeth ,, So this is all I have say for today about me and what I am living with ,,, I am praying for everyone suffering like this ,, you are not alone , I felt I was alone for so far too long ,There is a very few exceptional people in dental and medical who know this decades long clinical problem as a result fron dental trauma , do not stop searching for the real dedicated to people professionals out there , they are truly hard to find , I am old school , and this day 2009 is new school , there is still real people who care for people in pain , There not much to gain for Dentists ,and DR.'s when they cannot eliminate all your pain ,so the ones who are willing to help are very, very special gifted people , I have more to add another day ,, this is enough for today ,, do not give up , I know what that feels like ,,, Babytbear SUE
