My daughter was born with jaundice and she would throw up almost after all her feedings. At two months I took her to the emergency room because she was very weak and limp. The doctors diagnosed her with Septo Optic Dysplasia (SOD) .
Septo Optic Dysplasia (SOD) is also known as de Morsier Syndrome- is a rare disorder characterized by visual impairment, pituitary deficiences, and spefic brain abnormalities.
Currently she has :
Optic nerve hypoplasia(underdevelopement of optic nerve)
Nystagmus(involuntary movement of the eyes)
Hypopituitarism(diminshed activity of pituitary gland) which resulted in hormonal problems
And she had jaundice at birth
Treatment
Hormone replacement therapy.
With the eyes we don't know what treatment she will be going under.
There are other features and characteristics for SOD that she could get as she gets older.
