still looking for a DX

0 Recommendations

Hi,
Thought I would mention my symptoms to the experts, because for the last ten years I have not received a dx.

I get Hives, but not regular hives angioedema hives,
my eyes start first, then my face & trunk and arms.
It lasts 7-10 days. Totally swollen, where I look like a creature from a horror movie.
I was tested for Heritatary Angioedema Uticaria and was negative. I was not missing the C-1 esterace enzyme. The thing is that my mom & my daughter both have the same type of hives as well., my mom has to go to the emergency room because her throat closes.
I have to take 2 singulair, 2 zertac and 2 zantec twice a day. It has pretty much stayed at bay for the last few years being on the meds., except that I still feel it and I know that it will come back.
Everytime I do break out I have stomach pains & diareah first , then the hives break out. If I do not take prednisone immediately I will just keep swelling,
the prednisone does not stop it just slows it down a bit.
I have told doctors that I have bone pain at times & they ignore it. I find it hard to describe, except that would be the pain I would expect to feel if I had bone cancer.
I have immune disorders up the ying-yang.
Hashimotos Hypothyroidism, Multiple sclerosis, and what they are calling angioedema.
I also have Epilepsy and had 2 heart attacks at age 45 & 46 , which might have been from the interferon that I had been on for the ms. So I take alot of medicine.
I do need to find out what it is with the hives., because they are not just hives.
My mom is on doxipin daily for it, I'm on the H-1 & H-2 blockers daily & so is my daughter.
We get very flush & break out immediately.
I had been tested for Lupus, Vasculitis, and HAE, it was negative & they said they did not know what it was.
So if anyone has any thoughts as to what I should do
I would apprecitate it.
Thanks

Did they ever test you for crohn's disease? I have just heard that some people get rashes before they have a flare, which normally is a lot of diarrhea.

Maybe it also could have something to do with all your medications? I have just seen meds that cause this & that & then you have to take a pill for that, which causes something where you have to take another pill & then something for another.... ect. etc. It's a never ending cycle.

I just thought if you had diarrhea, then you might need to be checked for crohn's disease. I have heard that some people with CD have rashes during a flare. Maybe a colonoscopy would help.
