Hi,
I've learned so much from reading everyone's posts.....this is the first email I look at each morning. I am worried right now and was wondering if anyone had heard of this problem.

I had an MVD, crianotomy (brain surgery for trigeminal neuralgia) Nov. 2006. A few months ago I noticed that occassionally (it's become more often of late) I was having a few visual disturbances. For example, once I wes writing in my journal and thought a bug crawled accross the upper peripheral vision of my left eye - the disturbances are always on the left side. It happened 3 times last week. Also I've been waking up with a headache.

I finally told my husband this week (he worries so much about me) that about 8 weeks ago, at the hairdresser's, when she pulled some hair up, I felt a frission go through the right side of my head over my ear. The surgery was on the back right side of my head. When I felt the scar...it's indented....alot. It\s about 3 fingertips across, two fingertips wide, and at the deepest part about half a fingernail deep. The deepest part is where they took the plug out of my skull.

My husband convinced me finally to call the neurosurgeon....and I was kidding with his nurse when she said he'd want to see me fast that I'd see her in march or april....it always takes weeks to get into see this guy as he's the head of all 3 neuro depts.. She called me immediately with an appt. next week for an MRI before seeing the surgeon.

I'm a bit concerned now. When I looked on the internet I couldn't find anything about this....I'm on no new meds, no bumps....nothing that I can pinpoint that might have precipitated this...I can't even remember when the visual disturbances started or know how long the scar has been like this. The only thing I do know is that the parasthesia (unusual feelings on the right temple and over the ear are new. I can make them happen if I press on the end of the indentation. It's hard except at each end.

So I'm asking....has anyone ever heard of such a thing. Couldn't it just be normal scar tissue or something?

Thanks for listening.....
Jeanie

What did the MRI reveal? I had a crainotomy and have notice that a section has "fallen in" I also can feel a hole (probably burr hole) that I don't remember feeling before. I haven't called the dr. because like you I feel that this might be normal.
