PARENTS OF HANDICAPPED CHILDREN (AND CHILDREN WHO ARE ADULTS)

0 Recommendations

I live in Az. and care for a handicapped adult son who also has a genetic disorder as well as suffering from the results of a brain hemmorage as an infant. I want to organize parents who are at the mercy of people who are politically motivated and don't really care about those of us and our children who are suffering. In some states, animals are given better rights than our children

I am frustrated and very angry. Having a son with an orphan disorder he doesn't fit into a category but does need help, and I need help with him. He is an adult with the ability in some areas of a three year old. anyone else out there with a similar problem. Let us unite

Dear Rgg,
I am very sorry for all your frustrations. Here is a link with resources in AZ that might help:

Good luck! Kim

Kim,
thank you. It's good to know there are people who care.
Hacienda is where my son has had excellent care for respite, and he loves it there, but they feel they need more money for the level of care my son needs. The dept. of dd refuses to pay, ignoring some of the issues of care. Many people there have been understanding and realize what the areas of needing more help are, I do not know who it is that is causing me all this aggrevation.
I also, in the past have contacted the other groups when the insurance co IJack had at that time and long term care refused to pay for a medicine that prevented him from having a major bleeding episode, in spite of letters from Doctors explaining this. the medicine was in excess of 100.00 each month. I paid for it, but knew I couldn't continue forever, (there was another med also that kept his heart beatng) they finally agreed to pay, I did change jack's insurance also. this took so long, if I was not here, Jack would have had a major problem or death. I could'nt get help from some of the org. you have listed
parents must organize and take back the power to care for our children, working with the government, not what is going on now, constant fighting
any parents out there interested????
