Need some advice/help desperately

2 Recommendations

Hi All!
I am in need of some serious advice or help. I have no insurance and have been diagnosed with Addison's Disease, pituitary tumor, colitis, severe migraines, severe abdominal pain and swelling, my body trembles so bad, and I have no insurance. All of these diagnosis were made this year. I have no insurance so my PCP is handling everything but am on no medications because I simply can't afford it. My husband divorced me because he didn't want a sick wife, I was fired from my job while in the hospital, and I am a single parent with no income other than child support which is only $51 a month whenever he feels the need to pay it. Someone informed me to call Cleveland Clinic and explain my circumstances and they have agreed to see me on a charity basis. This is wonderful news but the down fall is I live in Indiana which is 4 hours away from the hospital and it is in Ohio. I have to stay a minimum of 3 days for major testing and to see a team of doctors so I have to come up with the travel expense money for lodging, gas and food. Do any of you know any charities that help with these expenses?? I have contacted everyone in this area and I can find no help. I have applied for state aide but that seems to drag on forever... My appointment is February 3rd. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all for listening to me complain and I hate to ask for help but I don't know what else to do,

Hope this helps some......I'll pray that God will guide you.....speaking of which, you might also try Catholic Charities (you don't have to be Catholic).

Great sites to investigate. I was told by a doctor that they liked to write off some of the bills as well as the hospital because it gives them a nice tax break. I pray that you can be one of those write-off's.

HM -- you can also check w/some of the drug companies re: getting your meds -- I know AstraZenca helps and so does that thing that Montel Williams was involved with, but the name escapes me now.....

you can maybe try the local shriner's org. they might help. my son has a form of luekodystrophy and heard they can help. good luck your in my prayers.
