medicade

Anybody out there have ssi with medicade? Do you all have problems? Does anyone feel as though our insurance companies should have to cover pre-existing problems? I do......
I wrote my state representative, I told them that we work everyday, we pay our taxes and we are law-abiding citizens. I said that it made me sick that an insurance company could supersede the advise of specialists, and do as they pleased. I told him that it was horrible for the disabled to have to suffer with the irresponsible, insensitive, state bureaucracy. I also told them that it was an outrage that our animals were treated better than our elderly or disabled. It makes a mockery of our country, and I feel disheartened towards anyone who has the audacity to make our disabled feel lost, or less of a person because they are disabled.
I write letters to everyone. I continue to try to find answers, and who can give them to me if they can't. I'm tired of sitting around waiting for congress to help. They can't help what they don't know.....and they won't help sometimes when they do..... Keep writing eventually It will make a difference.

I am 29 years old. My older brother and sister have been both diagnosed with Olviopontocerebellar Atrophy, and they both get SSI. I have been coming down with the same symptoms. I used to be a dental assistant, but I had to quit because I kept falling at work. I applied in January 2007, and they denyed me once. I am waiting patiently. I have worked since I was 14 years old. Isnt that why they took social security out of evey check just incase someday I was unable to work?? I dont have insurance. They wont give me a medical card because I havent been declared disabled. I want to know how I am supposed to see the neurologist that I should be seeing. If anyone has any suggestions Please help. I feel hopeless.

My husband has spent months trying to get me not only medicade but ssi. Finally after 8mo. I got a spend down and few hundred a month. I didn't quilify for a full grant because I havn't worked "fulltime" for 5 or more yrs. Oh, please forgive me for raising my kids. Oh I hear you loud and clear.

Have you tried a disibilty lawyer? Some of them charge nothing unless you win. Go to ythe Dr. anyway! you have to get diagnoised it's your health.
I have no idea what your disease is I can't even try to pronounse it but I know what your talking about with all the b.s. that you have to go through. Keep fighting for what you have the right too.
Go to your gov. if you have too.

I still feel that all the power is in the hands of the insurance companies, not politicians or doctors. How can we start lists of the insurance companies with ratings from " users"

My husband has a CPM and he has been played with by the insurance company. They treat him like he has a normal illness but he does not. They won't give him sufficent time to recover
before they cut him off of the insurance. More and more damage is being done while they play games. I fell like they want him to curl up and die, then they won't have to pay for him. He is being denied alot of treatment because they keep putting him into custodial care (feed, cleanand wash him and give him his medicine). While I pay (private pay), while waiting on Medcaid to make a decision. He is a HUMAM BEING not a dollar figure.
