Web development from home. Also some companies will let you do customer service from home. You have to have a good computer, a good internet connection, and a headset. Try contacting credit card companies. Your state rehabilitation agency will pay for necessary equipment and maybe even a high-speed internet connection. There are also opportunities to do english tutoring for foreign students over the internet. I have some links somewhere for this, several friends do it. If I can locate the links I will post them. You might be able to Google it. Also, sometimes Craiglist (www.craigslist.com) will have opportunities.

Best of luck,
Cathy

ive tried my states Agencies like DARS i didn't get anywhere and they wouldn't help me find employment, they said ' find it yourself' so i gave up on them. ive also tried to find customer service jobs with no luck because most i found are scams, you say you have a few friends who do this? im all ears. no worries about having a high speed internet connection i have a Imac.

Craiglist can be good--sometimes. I even bought a couple decent vehicles from Craigslist. But I knew what I was looking for and know a bit about cars. Craigslist is also frought with deception and even criminals have used it. Has anybody heard about the lady who tried to hire a hitman to kill her lovers wife? She advertised on craigslist!
And of course there was the Craigs List Killer.
So 'buyer beware.'

Yes! You do have to be careful on Craigslist. Thanks for adding that warning, Rita. Some opportunities are legitimate, some are scams. I did find some legitimate, local small businesses looking for people to help them out, though. The scams become pretty transparent after reading a couple dozen of them.

It is sad that the creeps of the world had to invade my favorite shopping spot.!! Have you found that too, Cathy? Two years ago I found the greatest Ford F-350 Turbo Diesel truck there. Best truck I ever drove in my life. Then I also found my current little car on Craigslist, probably the best deal I ever got. It was an ugly little thing, but a diamond in the rough. I slapped a $500 paint job on it and it's the most reliable car, plus it's a sporty little thing that gets 30 mpg. And the best thing is it'll probably never die. Now all I see on craigslist is junk!

Now as far as jobs on Craigslist, I saw a couple scams there that went something like, "send us $200 for your 'starter kit' and you can make up to $10,000 a month! But don't wait, this is a limited time offer!"
I say, 'cut the crap!' Sorry. They make me want to cuss. But rule #1=never, ever give somebody one dime in the promise of making money.
Never give them a check from your personal checking account, your credit card number, social security number, or any personal information. I know I may be being redundant, but this needs to be reiterated because even the smartest people have their moments of weakness. We need to stick together to beat 'the bad guys' and work out of this recession! America's best days lie ahead of us and soon everybody who wants a job will have one, including us with varying disabilities. We are survivors. We got this far...we're still alive!
