Does hydrocephalus cause headaches or what?

0 Recommendations

So I have been having headaches for almost a year now and am getting nowhere with the docs. have had a ct and an mri. Both showed 20mm arachnoid cyst in postetior fossa and a sebaceous syst and hydrocephalus. got to a head doc bout a month after my mri and got told these cysts are very very common and hydrocephalus DOSENT cause headaches and i just have migraines. even though i have had a headache nearly every day of my life for the past year. So i have been doing alot of research and read that headache is defently a symptom of hydrocephalus. Am i crazy or what?

Your headaches may be related to the arachnoid cyst:

Thanks for the link!!

Well, there is no space for extra things in your cranium, so anything may cause headaches....Though you can also get headaches because of problems with your cervical vertebrae and stress headaches, especially if you have extra things, including extra fluid in your brain or faulty cervical vertebrae....

my advice is to find another doc ....why wouldnt extra fluid cause pain/pressure? wishing you the best,a good doc is hard to find.

Yeah i know right. I talked to my reg doc today and she is going to set me up with another doc asap!!!!

I think you and I have the same issues. My doctor thinks I have NPH, but I don't have any symptoms of NPH. He just wants to treat the headache, but everything we have tried does not work. John's Hopkins has a new headache clinic that I am looking into.
