Cystic Hygroma research in Norfolk VA

0 Recommendations

My son is almost 5. When I was 30 weeks pregnant with him, I had hypertension, so I getting ultrasounds very week. One week, they found a spot on the picture. No one knew what it was. We did research and discovered that it was a cystic hygroma. We had a neonatal surgeon on hand when he was born to make sure he could breath and such. He has gotten along fine with it, except recently, he has complained of it hurting. It bulges out where his trap muscles are on his right side, and wraps across his clavicle bone, and then under his arm pit. Kind of like a backpack strap. His motor skills are fine, he has just the same movement and strength there as the other side. But it seems to get bigger. His pediatric surgeon suggested a study that is being conducted in Norfolk, VA. I am not even sure he would qualify, since the study specifies that it is in the neck, and my son's starts there, but goes down. Anyone have any info on this study?
