back & chest pain

0 Recommendations

About 3 months back, I had a severe pain which started in the back (middle) and spread to the chest. The pain was excruciating after I slept for about 6 hours and it was almost difficult to breathe as well with the pain. After a few nights of continuos pain, I went to the emergency ward of the hospital nearby. They suspected some heart related problems, admitted me there for 2 days and then told me that my heart was fine. I then went to a Gastroeneteologist who again did many tests including an endoscopy only to tell me that it didnt seem like an gastro problem. I then went to an orthopedic surgeon who afet an MRI told me that it seemed like I had a fracture on my spine at T5. After 6 weeks, I repeated the MRI and this time it seemed like there were more spinal disorders which werent detected the previous time. Suspecting Spinal lesion, he advised me to a bone scan and also sent me to an oncologist. The Oncologist did some blood tests (I havent got the resuts as yet) but told me that he didnt suspect Cancer since the MRI sometimes shows 'disorders' when there are none. I went back to the orthopedic with the bone scan and it appears that the bone scan did not corroborate with the earlier MRI. The orthopedic is unable to tell me what the problem is and he asked me to wait and see . In the meantine, the pain keeps fluctuating from day to day. Some nights, I dont get it but it comes back later. Though usually I have only been getting at night after I sleep, in the last 2 days, the pain has been persisting during the day as well. The pain is now more below the rib cage on the sides and I now think it could be a muscular pain. I dont know which doctor to see now . If anyone has any idea what this could be or how this could be diagnosed, I would be very grateful.I live in Morris Town,New Jersey,USA
