True or False about Placenta Previa

0 Recommendations

Hello all I had a question about Placenta Previa. Yesterday I was just diagnosed with this at 18w6d. Now I know the ultrasound tech is not a Dr and I wanted to know if the following was true. She said women diagnosed with this in the second trimester it normally doesnt clear up by the third? Now I know I have read differently. I had bleeding and spotting in my first trimester but no Placenta Previa. Now that I am in my second trimester I have this. They only did the u/s because I am having discomfort down there. Not painful just pressure/uncomfortable feeling. But my cervix is not open. I was told not to have sex until I see the Dr again on the 17th. Should I stop my daily walks that I just started taking also? thanks in advance for all responses.

I also had bleeding (spotting) during my 1st trimester that stopped at 15 wks. Then at 16 wks I found out that I had a complete plecenta previa. I was also told that the chances of it moving were slim, but like you I had read otherwise. By wk 24 it had moved completely and was where it needed to be. I did end up delivering early, which was due to a cervical problem and also the reason I bled for so long at the beginning. Just make sure they keep an eye on your cervix, but as for the previa, there is still a chance it will move. Good luck!

Thank you

I was also said to have a partial previa found during my 2nd trimester. At my last U/S at 24 weeks it had moved. I read that most partial previas do move not sure about complete previas though. I was told walking was fine! Good luck. I will keep you in my prayers.

Thanks. Well i just went back to the dr and am 20 weeks now and was put on bedrest. I have complete previa. She doubts it will move .
Thanks for the support
