I think that pregnant "man" should make up his/her mind. She was born a woman and if she wanted to be a man she should've removed all of her woman like features instead of having a sex change to become a man then wanting to have a baby like a woman. It annoys me when people say he/she was a pregnant man because she wasn't a man at all she was born a woman. I hope they know how to explain that to their children.
I think it is ridiculous to have a tv show about this person. Just becasue he looks like a man doesn't mean he is a man. Obviously if he was able to have a child he is still a woman. I don't think its right that this person gets to become some sort of celebrity for having a baby just like every other woman that has given birth. This was not some kind of miracle, this is a person that was someone that was just lookiing for some type of celebrtiy. Why not just stick to shows about normal women giving birth.
I completely agree with you. This person should not be made out to be some type of celebrity.
I agree with you both. THere is no way this person could of been born a man. I think shim needs to confess about having work done to make shim look like a man. Even if this prson didn't want to be a celeberty at first and when they got there work dne wasn't exspecting to ever have kids, but now that shim is they need to tell the truth. S dose shim's doctor.
I watched the Oprah interview with this couple. They maybe different but they are in love and want to share that. He was in the process of the sex change( it takes a while before a doc will agree to do it) when they wanted to get pregnant. Being older, the woman unfortunately couldn't. After several tries they decided that they still wanted a baby. But who was going to give a baby to a older woman and a man who had a sex change. I do know that they are legally married by the state also. They decided that because he hadn't changed everything yet he would get pregnant. It took them a while to find a doctor i believe but eventually did, and well I guess you can figure out the rest...he was pregnant.
In the grand scheme of things does it matter that the baby was brought into this world by a man? does it matter that it was different. Or is it that love is the most important and this couple was willing to be ritculed and treated harshly because they wanted to share that love.
I believe that they did a brave thing. We should not judge them but support them as people who love their child. Everyone has something difffernt about them, theirs is just new. It is not nice to judge so harshly a couple who thought it better for themselves and their new baby to tell their story instead it being leaked to the news and being stocked by crazy photographers and potenially putting lives at risk. People are naturally curious, otherwise their would have been no need for a tv show or pictures or interviews. It is not thrir fault for broadcasting it, it is the worlds for not minding their own business.
I hope people can be more open minded about this kind of subject. I know sooo many striaght couple that don't do right by their children that I am just relieved that some actually do. That is what matters, love and doing right by your kids. Not being gay, straight, black, white, man or woman. The symantics is not the point it is the heart. I guess some people need to reevaluate what is in their own. be kind to your fellow man and woman people, and remember, those without sin cast the first stone.
I have no problem with people wanting to change themselves. Whatever makes them happy, good for them, but i think this is wrong. This person didn't want to be a woman anymore but wanted the benefits of one? This story is about a woman, who looks like a man, having a baby. Because women have babies not men, not now or ever.
They may have wanted to have a baby because they love each other and i have no problem with them wanting a family. But the fact that they are publicizing it as "the pregnant Man" is what gets me. It wasn't a pregnant man that gave birth it was a woman that looks like a man. I think that I am fairly open minded being that my best friend, and my uncle are Gay. My cousins father also had a sex change after he divorced my aunt, I also have a problem with him because he tells people that he is a single mom. That being said i have seen what it has done to my cousins and they have had a lot of problems dealing with the fact that their father looks like a woman. i don't think they even for one second thought about how it would affect their children. These kids are going to need a lot of therapy to cope with the circumstances these people brought them into. And is that what you would consider doing right by your kids?
I don't know why they are doing this. This person is not a true man, so don't have the right to state that they are a man when they were a women a birth. I wish there would be a why to tell them that they should not put this on the air. They are all so putting it on ABC. Come on people. What they need to do is ask yes women how we feel about this, and man to. I would have to say they would find out that there are people out there that are mad at this. Don't they understand that know we have to tell are kids about this if they ask. The made a be deal with Janet Jackson show at the football game when she show a boob. But it's OK to air this. They need to think.
I agreed with Raylene! It's maybe one crazy life, but it their life!! It's their happy life!!!
If the show soooo... ridiculous and it bother you that.... much, then don't watch the show, don't talk about it. I'm sure you have enough things in your own life to worry about. Sooo... just leave that poor, happy family alone harh? It's nothing you or anyone on this earth going to change that! So... move on!!!!I don't think anyone have rights to judge anyone!
Guess what? This family has taken their lives and made them public so anyone can comment on it and they should. I watched Oprah too, it was wrong then and it's wrong now. Thomas is a woman NOT a man. A woman with facial hair was/is pregnant and has given birth----vaginally. If someone can give birth vaginally then they are a woman. If their family wants to have 22 kids then fine, that is their business and their right. But they shouldn't be paraded around as something new and unusual. A woman with facial hair has given birth that's it. I know a lot of women who have facial hair and have given birth, but they're not on TV and they aren't getting paid either. If Thomas wants to be a man and live life as a man then so be it,but if Thomas wants to feel what it's like to be pregnant then he needs to remain a woman. Actually, since Thomas lives as a man and yet delivers a baby like a woman then he/she should be 'It'. As my grandmother used to say (paraphrased) It needs to either sh$%^t or get off the pot. Are we a girl or a boy? The whole 'pregnant man' thing is a joke and an insult to those of us who have had kids, it's an insult to all women----from the time of Eve. Someone mentioned that they will do right by their kids. Are you kidding???? How many years of therapy would you need if you were told "your mom is your mom and your dad is a boy(?) but he has a vagina and gave birth to you. And then we went on TV and told the world that dad was a pregnant man and we were in tabloids and on the news and Oprah and now we can pay for your therapy for the rest of your life. You will be teased unmercifully and tormented and probably beat up at least once a day. We could keep you home and home school, but you have to live a daily life so good luck at the grocery store. Remember---we did all of this for you. (when you commit suicide or are beaten to death cuz your parents are weird, we'll have a nice service for you)
I am very upset with discovery health referring to this person as a man. I am in the medical field and have always enjoyed this channel as a fact based show. We all know this person is not a man, inside or out. Mentally he might think of himself as a man but this should not be advertized as first ever pregnant man. Just because a person dresses or takes medication, male hormones to grow facial hair does not make that person a man. My comment has nothing to do with how these people live or what they choose to call themselves but rather the programs title. This person has a vagina, uterus and xx chromosomes. A health based program should have more sense than to refer to Thomas as a pregnant man.
Yeah, but its testostorone turned his clitoris into a penis. So technically, a man.
I couldn't have said it better myself. For people who disagree...What makes Thomas a man?
It's too much going on in world, in life.... It's endless. So.. why get upset about somthing you can't control over.
It's not about control it's about the truth. Also it's not about the size of the woman clitoris that makes she a he. This is a medical program and to say he gave birth to a child is like saying a gorrilla gave birth to a human. It's just not possible. The parents can say whatever they like about themselves but Discovery Health as a health based program should have more sense.
Well....the truth is....He isn't really a he!! So....for that, it is posible for he/ she to give birth to another human.
They're proud of what they do. That why they choose to be on tele. and I'm sure they aware of something like this going to happen. But, do you really think they care about what you or other think????
Whatever anyone saying here, not going to stop them. ENDLESS.....Maybe they comeback on the show for the second baby.
I agree. No one cares that they're in love and wanted to children, it's the fact that he is being acknowledge as a pregnant 'man' and she most certainly is not a man. I think that should in some way be illegal for her to call herself a man and be celebrated as one.
No...........technically not a man! She has two x chromosomes. Tell me any man with that!
not sure why you are replying to my post. I could care less about these women having a child. I am happy for two loving people wanting to love a child. I never said anything about stopping them from sharing their story or having kids. Maybe you should have read my post before you replied. Subject line; it's their life. My problem lies with the shows title.
Yeah, but its testostorone turned his clitoris into a penis. So technically, a man Stated by onelittlemistake.. You can't not I mean can not grow a penis. I'm sorry but when need to read about the human boby, and development of the human body. I don't know why you would state that.
