Here we are after just visiting Renee down in Indianapolis. My DIL just got to do her first kangaroo session with Renee which was really exciting and they both did very well. BUT, lately Renee has been having A LOT of bradys, when I was there talking with her nurses at bedside, she had 3 bradys within a 15 minute time period. One of my concerns is that they are pushing her feeding too quickly. She is 28 weeks gestational age. She was on feeding of 1oz every 4 hours, and now she is on 2oz every 3 hours. She is still only 1lb 11-1/2 oz and since her feedings has increased, it appears so is her brady's increasing in frequency. The Dr's are also attributing it to the fact that she has a Grade 4 bilateral brain bleed and blaming the inter cranial pressure, but when they checked her fontanel and her head size, the head size had actually gone down a cm and her fontanel was soft. Renee is going to surgery today to have a reservoir put in. With all of her brady's, I am very scared.
