What do you expect in ur ped visist if your child is not sick? I asked my ped to check the BP of my daughter and he replied NO we do check at 4 yr old only. Also he told me that blood work will be done in once a yr if child is not sick.
My son has never had his blood pressure checked at the pedi. We did blood work at a year. They weigh him, check him for dislocations, check his eyes, ears and lungs. She asks if we have questions. What he is eating. What he is doing. I think that is about it
Our doc checked BP at 2 and 3 yr. check ups. At 3 yrs old my daughter had several high readings and was monitored for several months so I'm glad they checked. We just moved and switched to a new ped for our 4 yr appt. and they checked BP as well. The nurse said that they are required to do at least 3 vitals for well child exams so they usually do weight, height and BP.
