UTMB dilemma

0 Recommendations

Anyone know anything about the hospital? My doctor is now delivering there and I can either drive 45 minutes to galveston for each appointment and deliver the baby or switch doctors and go to St.John's. I'm having a hard time making the decision and my husband is deployed so it makes it really hard. If I stay with my doctor I can deliver vaginally, but they don't do VBAC's at St.John's so I'm really debating here. St.John's seems like a better hospital and much closer, but I would have to get a new doctor and have a c-section. Any suggestions?!! I'm really torn and I need to set up my next appointment really soon so I need to make this decision.

I think you are better of at St Johns its a much better hopstial than UTMB . I would never everreturn to UTMB because how they treated Heidi. There is always the option for the medical center . I thought you were going to have c- section ? I think my OBGYN does VBAC'S and deleivers at St lukes and Methoidst in the medical center.

Hhhmmm where is she again?? All the way down at medical center?

I didn't think Galveston was a bad place. My Dad was there for back surgery clean up. ANd they have the best doctors there.

Hi there,

I live in The Woodlands and have to drive an hour to the medical center to see my OB and peri. They deliver at Women's and my OB does do VBACs. It's a long drive, but worth it for me. She's a wonderful doctor. I don't know anything about St. John's... sorry. My OB's name is Jonna Miller if you are interested. Good luck with your decision! I know a long drive stinks, but it may be worth it to stick with a doctor you know.

Best wishes,
Ann

I have no clue about either, just wanted to say I am from Conroe..!!
Crazy how small the world is!

Haha... that's cool. It is a small world! Lots of mommies on here from the Houston area... and several who are now pregnant again. It makes sense, being such a huge place! :)

So I think I'm going to try and find a doctor that will deliver VBAC at Clearlake Regional. Besides my horrible experience with my doctor and the c-section she did, the actual care I recieved and the care my son got were awsome! *Brittany if your reading this I know you strongly dislike the hospital!* But I think that's my best option. Does anyone have a suggestion for an OB that will do VBAC? I did some research and found Dr.Klein and he does VBAC's anyone know anything about him? I also want to get a few options incase my insurance doesn't accept these doctors. Thanks!!

I feel so much better about this especially since my kiddos will be born in the same hospital. I think all the hormones have made me a little nuts as well!!

Amy if you feel comfortable to deliver at Clear lake thats what you should do . As your friend I will stand behind that decision but aboustlely dont use Dr. Steven Edmmonson .
