spastic diplegia

0 Recommendations

Does anyone have a child with spastic diplegia and arm involvement. I'm a little confused on this subject because I have read that spastic diplegia can affect your arms, it just affects your legs more.

I took my son to a developmental pediatrician and he suggested that his arms may be involved too. Ofcourse it is extremely mild in his arms (he's 18 months and doesn't even need to see an OT and never has seen one) His fine motor skills are good. The Doc mentioned that it may be quadraplegia because his arms might be very mildly involved. I was like wait a minute, how can that be if spastic diplegia can involve your arms?? I'm just alittle confused here. Does anyone have advice?

BTW, Daniel is doing really good and his physical therapy is going great.
