Red spot on baby's head

0 Recommendations

My baby got a pink spot on her head..now it all started when I pulled lint out of her hair, which kinda pulled the skin really quickly. It was never there before and the doc says it's a birthmark. I thought birthmarks appeared at birth not 4 months later. I'm black and my baby looks white, so I don't know about what's called "strawberry patch" and nobody in my family has either. Do you think it was due to the slight pull, or is it just "strawberry patch"/ birthmark? Please chime in~

Hemangioma

Is it red and bumpy or sort of pink and flat?

my daughter didn't develop any 'birth marks' until she was about 4 mo actual / 2mo adjusted. she has 2 small tanish spots - one on her leg and one on her chest. i don't know if thats common or not.

My daughter has it too on the back of her head and one small one on her nose. They told us its called a stork bite and it will go away as she gets older. I wouldn't worry about it too much. If you google stork bite and go to images you probably will find pics similar to what your baby has.

My daughter has a hemangioma (birthmark) on the side of her nose. It didn't start growing until right before she left the hospital (3 months actual).

It's probably not anything to worry about. Just keep an eye on it in case it starts to grow rapidly.

she is a cutie pie

pink and flat

I agree with faddu - I think this is a stork bite. My little guy had them on the back of his neck. They faded away....I don't remember how long it took, but the aren't there any longer. Congratulations on your daughter. She is adorable!!

It is probably a stork bite...or as we call it an "angel kiss." Noah has one on his forehead right between the eyes in the shape of a heart. He's 4 years now and it isn't too noticable. It's faded a lot over the years. We noticed it around 30 - 32 weeks, born at 27. We certainly see it when he gets upset or angry.
As Mgnsmom said, keep an eye on it incase it grows.
Congratulations! She's such a cutie!
