Need some help..head surgery and still having brady's

0 Recommendations

I have a former 28 weeker now 8 months (5 adjusted) who is still having brady's. Last night she had 10 in the course of about 12 hours. Is this normal or should I start to get really worried. Also, 2 of her sutures have closed and she will be going in to have surgery on her head. They are going to remove the front half and just build her a new skull. Do you think this could be related to the brady's...I have talked to her doc and he thinks she will grow out of them but I am beginning to wonder.

Not to make light of your situation, but are the brady's real? Or is it the leads and her moving around? And what kind of Dr is telling you she will outgrow them?? her pediatrcian or a specialist? laura

Yes, they are real brady's. I can tell because she has color change and also when we get our monthly reports the heart rate drops well into the 50-60's. Our peditritian (sp) is telling us she will outgrow them.

I was wondering about the leads as well and have used 3 different kinds. We have had the healthcare co, the doc and the neonate doc all check placement and they are always on correctly. Her brady's happen most of the time when she is sleeping so movement is not an issue...at least not from what I have observed. We tend to watch her a lot because of her many health issues.

Thanks so much for getting back with me, I am at my wit's end and don't know what else to do.
