My oldest daughter was a 33/34 weeker, now 11 yrs old. She rolled her eyes for like two days at 19 months and then one day woke up with one "stuck" to her nose. That's the only way I can describe it. She never had ROP either, just woke up cross eyed one day. We found out she was farsighted and she's been in glasses and contact lenses ever since. We did patching, atropine drops and finally two surgeries when she asked to "look like everyone else". She still rolls her eyes and when they start moving I just say "they're doing it again" and she rolls them back in place! Ha Ha

My 29/30 weeker did have ROP and is watched very closely for the same signs. She's 2 and seems to have dodged the bullet. We still see our pediatric ophthalmologist about every six months- just in case.

Good luck! If you're not comfortable just call the doc's office and talk with a triage nurse and see what she thinks. She'll let you know if you need to come in early.

My daughter didnt have ROP and is 20M now. She is followed up by an ophthalmologist every 4-6 months. In our last visit a couple of months ago he told me to watch out for her eyes rolling. He did say if she is tired and/or sleepy its normal, however if she is doing it other times we should take her in.

I dont mean to scare you in any way,.. I do think its probably best to contact his doctor.

Take care,
Cathy

I don't know if it is normal but my little alyssa does it as well, some times she does it more than others and then it goes away for a little bit then she starts up again, i am not sure why she does it i will talk to her pedi about it though.
