Hi, congrats on your little miracle baby! so you stopped bleeding after the pregnancy and then started again? I bled for about 3 months, but had a lot of extra "stuff" to get rid of and i have only had one cycle since. sounds to me like you need to get a new OB. Have you talked to any other dr to get a second opinion.... or any answers fort that matter? hth

I had to switch OB's and the new one did the same thing. She put me on anitbiotics and i asked what for and she said just to cover my basis. I called back becasue the anitbiotics she put me on were strong and the background on them said they were the best and they were used for malaria? Weird. She ouldnt tell me what i had. Yea i quit bleeding for a few months and it has been a constant bleed for four months. I looked up everything and it says like endometeritis and i am just scared. Thank you for your reply and thanks for the congrats. Wow you have 4!!!

I recommend you see another doctor. While I bled for 3 months + after my pregnancy, toward the end it was slowing down. You need a doctor that will sit down with you and discuss. this is your health, you need to advocate for yourself. Good luck, keep us posted.

I bled for 3+ months after delivery also - it was actually pretty slow initially then picked up and stayed at a constant rate. My OB did a test (I can't quite remember - maybe like a PAP? Mommy brain!) and it turned out that I had retained placenta. I had had a c-section and it's very rare to have retained placenta afterward... but I did! I ended up having to have an uncomfortable procedure where they basically vacuumed everything out... this was because of my own health issues and the fact that they were afraid to anesthetize me however - I was told normally a D&C would have been done - at any rate, the bleeding slowed and stopped after that. 4 months doesn't sounds normal to me - I hope you get some answers soon!

I would try to find another opinion. It could be part of placenta or a fibroid.Dont leave it untreated-4 months is too long to bleed.

As a former nonstop (pre-pregnancy) bleeder, I'm strongly suggesting you find a new GYN as fast as possible. Bleeding this long is not normal and you may be seriously anemic.
