I had my baby boy this past monday 6-29-09 and I feel so blessed to have in my life. He was born @35 weeks and 2 days. He weighed at 4 pounds and 4 oz. 17 inches long. He's been in the NICU since Monday due to his lungs. He had to get sulfate in his lungs; they put a tube down his throat for about two days. Yesturday they pulled the tube out; now he has the nasal air tube attach to his nose and he is breathing 29% oxygen and the rest is room oxygen. He is doing great but they want to keep him at least a week more due to the xray they took this morning. the xray showed a little oxgen outside the lungs so they want to keep him on antibiotics for the week. Hopefully they will start feeding him tonight and maybe get to hold him tomorrow.
This has been an experience that I and my husband will always remember and appreciate god for giving us Zachary in our life. He is our miracle baby.

WELCOME! I hope you get to hold him tomorrow too!! I didn't hold my baby until 2 weeks after birth, so I know how it feels to not hold him. I hope all goes well! Praying for your son, I hope he goes home soon

Welcome and Congrats!!! I do too hope you get to hold your little one tomorrow. He sounds like he is doing well. I never got to hold my little one for 5 1/2 weeks and when you get to hold them it feels so amazing. All the best to you. Keep us posted.

Congrats and welcome!

Welcome to the world, little Zachary !!! Congratulations on the birth of your son! Wishing you and your family the very best!

great picture, by the way!

CONGRATS! and welcome!

This is so weird: my son was *exactly* the same weight and only 1/4 inch shorter than yours! (But he was born at 32-weeks). Mine spent 19 days in the NICU, with a few apnea episodes, learning to suck from a bottle and the breast and basically gaining and growing. Anyway, congrats and I hope your son thrives and you get to take him home really soon. I know how anxious the NICU experience can make a parent.

Happy Birthday Zachary!

Hope you get to go home SOON!

Welcome and Congrats!!!He sounds like he is doing well. I never got to hold my little one for 50 days and when you get to hold them it feels so amazing.

Hope you get to go home soon!!!

Congrats & welcome to the world baby boy! Our son was born (a 34 weeker) on June 20th. We have been at the NICU for 15 days and hope to go home tomorrow. It had been a very trying experience. We couldn't even hold him for the first few days :( that was hard. Hope your stay is short!!

Thank you all for the warm welcomes! Its been 10 days since Zachary has been in the NICU and Hopefully we get to take him home tomorrow! I'm so excited and I can't wait to have him home and the next 18 years.
I'm glad I found this board and hopefully I get to know you all.
