My sister had results of her first glucose test elevated, so she had to do the three-hour glucose test. But after the three-hour test results came back, her doctor thought she was ok.
It's not unusual for the one-hour test to show a little bit of something, especially since you are slamming back a glass with a tremendous load of sugar. Frankly, how often in real life do you pour that much sugar down your throat in one or two gulps? But that's what you do for the test.
I wouldn't worry based on the results of the one-hour glucose test.
Good luck.

Congrats, Anna5- how exciting!
Yes, I too had high levels during the first one and was fine during the 3-hour one. I actually had to do an at-home one too, where I peed into a jug over 24 hours and then brought it into the lab - that one came out fine too. Because I had twins, they monitored me a ton - very annoying, but important, too.
Best wishes.

Thanks for encouraging words, hopefully GD will not be an issue.I am really nervous about this pregnancy after last one turned into a disaster. My doctor is monitoring me pretty close and already ordered a cervix ultrasound. That wasnt an issue last time either but I guess he wants to cover all the bases. He told me to take it easy and thats going to be the hardest part- with all the crosscountry, gymnastics meets, soccer and dance. Please pray that I make this one with no bedrest and no problems.Sorry this is so long.

The key is to watch your diet - I managed to stave off GD by watching sugars - and I normally have elevated sugars, which is why I'm switching to a low-carb diet. Ask your doctor what their recommendation is to help keep the GD away. I will keep you in my prayers that this is a long uneventful pregnancy!

Thanks!

With both of my pregnancies i had elevated levels on the one hour test and normal on the three hour test. good luck!

Anna5 Congrats for ur pregnancy.
(7 weeks is too early to chkup. normally they do check up after 25 weeks)
I was too worried for the GD as my family history has diabetes but it came out neg by watching my diet.
My gynac told me to eat 5-6 small meals instead of 3 large meals. Avoild sugar, carbs and fatty foods. just eat healthy.

Good luck

@Medkensi
I hope ur daughter is fine (no kidney probs).
U know i prayed alot for you.

God Bless You

I was surprised my doctor sent me for this test this early but I guess its common if you have some risk factors .In my case its age (37),prior preterm labor and stillbirth.Thank you guys for your replies.

With the first pregannacy both my my 1 hour and 3 hour came back high and they dont why because within 10 mins of drinking the stuff it came up. I'm currently in second pregnanct 20 weeks and have no do the test yet .

With both my pregnancies the one hour has come back elevated and the three hour has come back fine. Because of my PCOS with my current pregnancy (I'm 20 weeks right now), I've had to do the testing early (this week, actually) and I'll be doing it again at the standard time. Soooo much fun. :-P But I wouldn't worry.
