I was just wondering if anyone has given their baby/child the synagis shot (for RSV) as well as both the flu shots. My ped. wants to give my daughter all of them within a weeks time.....

My baby had the snyagis and the flu shot at the same time. She had no side effects from it.
My baby got the snyagis, he isn't old enough for the flu shot. I'm pretty sure I am going to get him the FLU shot in December when he turns 6 months. I won't give him his other vaccines, until after flu season. i don't want to put a ton of stuff into his little body.
do you mean two flu shots? b/c th first year they get the flu shot they have to have 2 doses. but those doses have to be 4-5 weeks apart.
mine got the reg flu shot a month ago. yest got the h1n1 and today got the synagis. i too was concerned about getting them so close together but i have been reassured by several drs thats its fine.
She wants to give her the h1n1 shot and the seasonal flu shot as well as the synagis....I think it's too much all in a weeks time. She is going to be 7 months corrected on the 6th. She got RSV while in the NICU last march so we definately won't postpone the SYNAGIS! Ugh, always making hard decisions!
My twins got both flu shots (regular and h1n1) and synagis in the same week. I was nervous but was reassured by the doc. I think the mmr is the one that people worry about and choose to separate.

Today my daughter got MMR/chickenpox/Dtap/flu and H1N1........I was very concerned, but after talking to the doctor and 2 nurses they assured me that it was OK. The doctor said that just going to the store or to the doctors office, that they are exposed to so many new germs and whatnot, that the immune system is always working with a bunch of things at one time. I just pray that they are correct!!!!!!!!!! I know there is someone else that just posted a week or two ago that their son also had all the 15 month vaccines plus the h1n1 and everything turned out OK.
My son got the regular flu shot and his 15 month shots one day and then 4 wks later he got his second flu shot and RSV. He didn't have any problems with it. My pediatrician doesn't have the H1N1 vaccine yet, but when they get it Christian will get that too.
YES!!! We gave Dawson all of them. I feel it is important to make sure our Preemies are given everything they can be given to help keep them well until they get big enough to fight off infection on their own. We had to fight the insurance company this year to get the RSV and finally won. I was wondering about your stay in the NICU while you were so far from home. I read your post and felt like crying. We went through a similar time being 2 1/2 hours away from home. Nothing like you though! I bet you are super glad to be home for the holidays this year! We are. Let me know if you need any help with shots and such later. I don't know what it's like in Canada, but I'm guessing not so great when it comes to extra healthcare. Hope I can help!
I opted not to have Alexis get any shots, its my personal opinion that they are not worth the risks, and im not just talking about Autism!
We did Casey's seasonal flu shot a month prior to his h1n1 shot. He did receive the synagis the same day as the h1n1. We were told that h1n1 and seasonal flu shots should be spread out just in case a reaction occurred. That way, they'd know which one caused the reaction. If they were both given at once, here would be no way to pinpoint which one caused a problem.
