Best Breast pump under $200

0 Recommendations

What's the best deal out there for a breastpump? I want one that's very affordable but works well, it doesn't have to be the absolute best pump out there, just best pump for your money. I know there are some great ones but they cost a pretty penny. We're on a very tight budget for the second baby and I refuse to use the free manual pump we got from the hospital ever again lol. Thanks!!

I have a medela one, it's really good, and I only used it for a few months. You can purchase all new tubes and stuff for it, and I'd be happy to send to you for free if you want it. I have the 2005 or so version of this - normally $279.00

Oh that would be awsome!! Wouldn't I be able to just stick the tubing and what not in the dishwasher to clean it??

I'm fine with that, but some women want to start from scratch. The tubes are in the bag, I'll send it all along. Just email me a message with your name and address, and I'll try to get it in the mail this weekend. Just so you know, it was in a closet and I dripped paint on the outside of it - it looks like old milk, but it's not, it's paint - LOL!!! It's a leather bag. Hope it works out for you!

You'll just need to get the bottles and breast attachments.

I love the playtex embrace, it's a double hospital grade pump (much stronger and has more settings than the medela), I used it constantly when Wade was in the NICU and after he came home...it also has a closed system and can be used by more than one person without any health issues, also unlike the medela and other pumps. I would offer to sell it to you, but we're expecting again!

I have a pump I am done w as well that someone can have free if they need it. New tubing will be needed but I have a lot of accessories.

Btw, my pump is a Medela Pump in Style advanced shoulder bag model. I think it was 279$ also new. But I put a lot of miles on it in 15 mos. Still works great and is in good condition.

I love my Lansinoh. I have an Ameda rental from the hospital but swear now that my milk is established, I do just as well with the Lansinoh. And it was just over $100 on Amazon - not bad!

I used the playtex embrace - wonderful pump with padded shields. You should check it out. Comes with a nice bag so you can descretly carry it - as well as protect it. It also comes with a car adapter so you can pump in the car if need be. I actually used that when we had a 3 day power outage at my house.

I don't know the price, but I LOVE my Medela Pump in Style Advanced. (If mygirlsmom has the regular pump in style, I think that one is just as good.) It is great in that you can buy many different size or padded shields. I ended up buying lots of the sets for pumping so that I only had to wash pumping parts a couple times a day. (If you do this store used parts in water with a tiny bit of dish soap. Medela told me to do this after I noticed one set was starting to mold.) One of my favorite parts about Medela is that with Medela bras I was able to buy and use the Hands Free pumping kit. Essential! I was able to get lots of stuff done on the computer with this. Also, with my pump (it comes with a great, discrete carrying bag) I got the backpack. As time got tighter working full time and caring for my twins as a single mom I figured out how to pump while working in the kitchen with my backpack on. Obviously I have to have the hands free kit for this. I also used to use the hands free kit to pump while bottle feeding my boys (or later feeding them baby food). I still remember one time when I was trying to transition to breast feeding and I was bottle feeding Nathaniel, breast feeding Timothy on the right, and pumping on the left. So I give many votes for the Pump in Style! The lactation consultant where my boys were born said it was pretty comparable to a hospital grade pump. A manual pump or even a cheaper electril pump will not do the job. It will reduce your milk supply substantially. Oh, and Medela customer service is great! I actually got my pump replaced just before the warranty expired. They told me it was quite rare, but sometimes pumps just wear out. They were very easy to work with! They sent me a new pump overnight and after I received it I sent back the old one.

doesnt your insurance cover a bearst pump if you had a preemie i know are insurance company did both times . your dr has to write a scripe for it .

Well I need the pump for the new baby, my son was a preemie and I'm expecting a little girl who I hope to be full term =)

Check out your insurance coverage for durable medical equipment. My insurance reimbursed me for the hospital rental and all the accessories and paid for a Medela Pump in Style Advanced. Also, check prices at your hospital. My pump retailed for nearly $400 and I got mine for $275 at my birthing center and was then reimbursed all but my $15 copay. Your OB will need to write a prescription for the breastpump, so if you have coverage, ask for it at your post delivery check up.

i got an electric double pump made by lansinoh. its awesome. it can be bought at wal-mart and its under 200. its a great brand. my lactation specialist in the hospital recommends it!
