Anyone had subchorionic hematoma?

0 Recommendations

I am 15 weeks pregnant and have been bleeding since 9 weeks. When I went to the ER doctors thought I had a fibroid, later they discovered a subchorionic hematoma.I had SCH last time which ended up in abruption and premature labor.I just wanted to hear from other people who had it - what was your outcome and how long did you bleed. Thanks

I had it at about 8 weeks til almost 17 weeks. I stayed on bedrest for almost 3 weeks. I didn't get up but for the restroom and to shower every other day. And it healed. But I had to do what the doctor said because at 8 weeks I was getting out of bed to be on the sofa and would pick up a little around the house. I wish you all the best for you and your baby. My twins were born at 23 weeks, my water broke at 19 weeks. They are no longer with us. Just be sure to drink lots of water and stay off your feet.

I had an SCH at 6 weeks until now... I am 14w6d and am getting another U/S in a week to see if it has reabsorbed more.

Drink LOTS of water. I too had placental abruption with my second child, and she made it to 28 weeks.

Good luck... not all SCH result in P/A... only those whose placenta develops over the SCH area.

Alexacolbert-I am really sorry for your loss, its very hard to lose a child(I had a stillborn 9 years ago due to abruption).
1pair-and-1spare -do you know the size of your hematoma? My doctor told me I have a large one 6x3 and those usually dont heal very well. Its not very encouraging.

I had one too. I started bleeding about 5 weeks and was actually told that I had miscarried. Two weeks later, it was found that I did not miscarry, but had a subchoronic bleed. I had bleeding until about 12 weeks, but no more problems from it.

I had a SCH with my 3rd baby. I started to bleed at 10 weeks and it was bright red and lots of cramping. I bled 6 weeks straight, then on and off. We had preterm labor at 23 weeks and at 28 weeks (when I was 2 cm dilated) then 2 hours after I turned 33 weeks my water broke and she was delivered right away by emergency c section because I was 5 cm dilated with her feet in the cervix. She was 4 lb 5 oz and 16 ins long. 10 days later I took her home weighing only 3 lbs 14 ozs and 16.5 ins long.

Best wishes, over 90% of these types of uterine bleeds heal themselves by 20 weeks.

Its good to know there are some good outcomes and it doesnt always turn into a nightmare. Thanks guys for your support.

I had it with my 2nd child (son) - it was so large they prepared us for a miscarriage - I was on bedrest for 3 weeks ( although they said it doesn't really do much but help peace of mind) & it completely resolved - no more issues the rest of the pregnancy. My son was born almost 2 weeks late, actually, & was 9lb 9oz. Prayers to you for the same (well - maybe not the late & 9lb9oz part)!

Thanks for kind words,MBA.I am glad it resolved for you, just proves that doctors can be wrong sometimes.

I had a small one at first with no active bleeding but then it got larger because I didn't listen to my doctor I'm not sure the size but my doctor was very encouraging. Mine was very close to the Top twin called baby B later to be Addison. Thanks for your kind words and please keep me posted. Did you do some research online? I did and it was very scary.
