Bren's primary nurse got in contact with me so that she could see Brennan. She has not seen him since July. She was impressed with how both boys were doing. Brennan is a little nutty but who can blame him. When he was in the NICU at UCSD they had not had a baby like him in years. He CLD, pulmonary hypertension and many other issues.
His nurse told me that there are now many older babies in the NICU because of Brennan. Many babies with CLD are eating while on C-PAP something that had never been done before there. Many of these babies with CLD are also on "V". Basically to sum it all up Brennan has revolutionized how the UCSD NICU handles cases like him. He is a success story and continues to be.
His nurse was going to talk to a mom who has a baby still in the NICU because of CLD and she keeps crying that they will never leave the NICU.
He is no longer on the vent and is done to .5 litter of O2 through his trach ring. he is very active and is trying to roll over can get in his side.
We have a discharge meeting for him on thursday.
VENT: the entire two weeks that he was in the hospital this last time, none of the training we did was documented. So we have to do it again. Trying ti get into a CPR class is still a challenge. There is one thursday but it is at 10 and Justin does not go to school until 1. We have no one to watch him and trust me you can't take him to a CPR class. There is a free class locally near us but it is not until the 16th. On top of this I still have to pack and move.
