Mother’s Day Poem

What is mother’s day?
Some would say it’s a day where all mothers around the world get celebrated for the wonderful things they do.
Some would say it’s a day where all mothers should get presents, candy, flowers, and maybe even a nice dinner out.
But I believe that mother’s day is a special day.
It’s a day where you not only get to be appreciated for all the motherly things that you do but it’s also a day where you can appreciate not just your mother but other women too.
This day is for all women, no matter your age or your race.
Being a mother is a hard job I must agree. It doesn’t come with a salary, sick days, and doesn’t end at 5 o’clock.
You won’t always get someone coming up to you, shaking your hand, and saying “good job.”
But what you do get is your child’s smiling face as they say “mama” or “happy mother’s day”.
Or getting a hand picked flower brought to you by your child who worked so hard to pick out the perfect one.
Mother’s day is a wonderful holiday. It shows everyone in the world how hardworking mothers are and how important they are.
The world just couldn’t exist without mothers. We women are each other’s best friends, confidants, sisters, and yes even pms buddies.
So let’s hear it for all the mothers out there in the world.
For today is the day to cherish them and let them know how much they are truly loved.
