You can choose to think .. Or not to think... And what you think about expands! If you choose to think negative you will draw negativity your way... if you choose to think positive you can achieve many things. We are what we think. A hypnotherapist preached this to me years ago. I have always carried it with me in life and have passed it along to my kids to really think about. The mind is very powerful and relating to the wonderful world of medicine it can do things for the body no Dr or drug can.
The pharmacists was right about my son's drugs, they were way to strong. We are now weaning him off them as he was having moments of total unconsciousness at therapy and in class. There isn't any quality to life being that way and it makes school impossible. So now our only option for now is trying the bacolfen pump.
Yesterday at Therapy Matthew was on the FES bike. On the drugs he can ride that thing well with great muscle contractions..after cutting the drugs back he can only go as many as 13 pedals around before the tone kicks in and the bike stops and reverses its motion to relieve the spasms. It was very frustrating for Matt... after doing so well before.
After the bike we had time to kill Matt was wide awake so we went to the Parallel bars to try to do dips.. dips you pull yourself up with your arms on the bars and then rest your feet on the ground and lift yourself up and down hoping your legs might find the compassion to come alive and help out some. Matt pulled himself up.. I forgot how tall he is at 6 foot 5.. his legs actually relaxed and went flat to the ground and were straight not bent like they normally are. Matthew with out thinking decided... MY LEGS WORK... He stood straight up and then the kid LET GO OF THE BARS... it was brief they held him for a brief period of seconds before the knee's gave way... This was not going to stop Matt and he pushed up again. I didn't' question his madness I let him do what he wanted to do. He said I thought they would hold me. It felt like they would. He then again let his legs drop flat to the floor and with the assistance of the bars took 3 steps. Again his knee's went caput and he decided to do five dips and sit down. He said Mom.. I think I can, it might take time .. but I think I can.
That is the Power of Positive thinking.. I think I can!
One day He Will!
