I am cutting and pasting this from a friend of mine. Good stuff!

Hi – My name is Tammy Wilber and I met you and I have either meet within the disability community or through work or you know me as a friend, but I have to tell you about a device that I was using on the front of my wheelchair called the Free Wheel. If you don’t use a wheelchair or have a friend that does or work with people in wheelchairs please forward this to them. I want to get the word out about this device. What exactly is the Free Wheel? This is a new product to use with your existing wheelchair that allows you to push over surfaces that would typically be impossible!

The FreeWheel(tm) Wheelchair Attachment is adjustable to fit your footrest. Clamp it on in seconds and your ready to go!

It is lightweight and durable, strolling; exercising, hiking or just checking the mailbox is so much easier. Grass, curbs, rough road, etc. can be easily negotiated to help you in your quest of independence!

The thing that is so cool about the Free Wheel is that it was invented by a quadriplegic that needed to find an easier way to get around on difficult surfaces. For me personally, I have used the Free Wheel almost everyday in even the simplest situations like walking a dog that I sit for, and shopping in downtown Seattle, where the sidewalks are just filled with so many cracks, and even used it traveling. Or just get some exercise by going down to a local beach and going out for a good long roll in my wheelchair. I have had a handcycle bike before, but had a lot of issues carting it around in my car. The Free Wheel gives me that same feeling, but this weighs only about 5 pounds and you can even clamp it to the back of your wheelchair. I have been in a wheelchair for 16 years and this is by far the best adaptation for a wheelchair that I have found and it is affordable.

Hey that looks amazing. We have been looking for something like this for out on the Soccer field so Matt can get around on his own hanging out with his Team he use to play on.

Yes, me too. But I'm anxious to get one for my manual wheel chair. It should smooth my sailing and let me get up on curbs myself. At least I hope!

Thanks for sharing. I have shared it with some of my other groups as it looks like it can make life better if you are in a manual wheelchair. Wish it worked for the power chair.

No, so sorry, it can not be used with a power chair.

cool.:)i wonder what it would be like on a power chair.
