Detrol Constipation Dry mouth

Anticholenergic medications (Ditropan, Detrol, Sanctura, Vesicare, Enablex, etc.) can cause alterations in taste, and dry mouth, as well as vision blurring, constipation, and sometimes foggy thinking. Tingling of hands and feet is rarely seen, and I was unable to find anything about oral tingling.

It would be helpful to know the actual names of the drugs he is taking, as there are other meds that are used for bladder management other than this group of meds. Have you reported these symptoms to his physician, and has the physician reported these to the FDA (as required) as an adverse drug reaction?

What other meds have been tried? Is he taking these for leakage and/or high pressures? How long post injury is he? Has Botox been considered?

TJames,

Alot of your bladder medications(ie., Ditropan, Detrol, etc.) do have a side effect of dry mouth but I honestly have never heard of burning lips as a side effect. Maybe someone else can shed some light on the subject or you can try to do a Google search on the particular meds to check side effects. Good luck!
