Medicare doing what it can not to pay.

I don't know how many physicans are reading this, but I have been performing wound care to the poor and uneducated of North Georgia for over ten years. I own Global Wound Care and we pride ourselves on providing cutting edge wound care and getting people well when others want to amputate. For well over 1 and 1/2 years Medicare (my is out of Birmingham, Al) has slowed down and prevented payment to my clinic. In 2007, we estimated we saved Medicare over $20 million by preventing over 200 amputations. 2008 the number of amputations we prevented dropped to less than fifty. The reason for the drop was directly related to non payment of services provided for Medicare patients. I am just curious if anyone else out there is having a similar problem. Is Medicare already out of money?
